What’s the backstory?
Its name is a tribute to the Via Aemilia, an essential Roman road connecting Piacenza to Rimini which was built in 187 BC. The hotel stands on the ancient route, symbolizing a journey through time - from the intricate tapestry of the past to the dynamic pulse of the present.
Over the decades, the Aemilia Hotel has undergone numerous renovations and remodels, each one enhancing its blend of timeless elegance and contemporary comforts. Despite the changes, the hotel has always retained a core philosophy of genuine hospitality and retained the charm of Italian heritage. Today, the Aemilia Hotel tells a fascinating tale of Bologna's versatility, elegantly balancing tradition and innovation, much like the city itself.
Price Range
As a general guide, the price range starts from around $200 per night for a standard room, reaching up to $400 or more for the higher-end rooms, depending on the time of year and demand. Additional costs are invariably present, such as optional extras like spa treatments or dining at the in-house restaurant, but these are discretionary ant not excluded from the room price. The pricing is surprisingly affordable when compared to equally luxury-focused competitors in Bologna, demonstrating the hotel's commitment to providing value for money.
Visitors looking to experience the charm and opulence of the Aemilia Hotel should note that the rates can vary substantially. For instance, price surge takes place during peak periods such as holidays and the bustling summer season. It’s not uncommon for rates to be slightly higher during trade fairs or other large events that frequently take place in Bologna.
Amenities & Facilities
The hotel prides itself on providing a range of modern conveniences peppered with a hint of traditional charm. Fitness enthusiasts need not stray from their routine, courtesy of the state-of-the-art gym packed with the latest equipment.
The Aemilia further ensures a seamless experience with services such as free Wi-Fi, a tech-friendly environment with charging stations, and business services handy for the corporate traveler. Beyond the confines of your room, the Aemilia offers a stunning rooftop terrace commanding panoramic views of Bologna, perfect for an unhurried evening drink.
And let’s not forget the crowning glory - the skyscape terraces, an intriguing blend of green spaces and rooftop bars circling the entire building, offering snapshots of urban Bologna life. Enjoy dining under the stars, participating in yoga sessions, or merely reveling in the unique view of the city's spires and towers from this vantage point.

What Customers Have To Say
Our room was fantastic. We are finishing a long trip & this was the antidote to poor hotels with bad beds. Shower felt wonderful. Lots of room on the bath vanity for all our stuff. A coffee maker & a kettle in the room. Breakfast was unbelievable. Just delicious after delicious items. Lots of coffee & the staff was great. We didn't have time to go to the rooftop garden but it looked wonderful.
We will recommend Aemillia Hotel to everyone. Thanks for the great stay
Booking was smooth and easy and cost €80 for the room from 10am until 6pm. Even though we were early they allowed us store our cases and get breakfast in their restaurant at a cost of €10 each. The choice was a nice mix of the usual continental breakfast items, including hams and cheeses, fresh bread, pastries and some eggs and bacon, with fresh fruit juices too. The hotel itself is very modern, and very clean with a nice feel to it. The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
The room was ready early and they came up to get us from the lounge.
Our room was very nice and in line with the rest of the hotel being modern, spacious and very tastefully decorated. The bed was large and very comfortable.
We had a few hours to look around Bologna and the main sights were only a 20min walk away.
I have nothing negative to say about the hotel or it's staff, and the best compliment I can give it is that if we come back to Bologna I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
