What Customers Have To Say
Breakfast, which was included in our stay was a nice assortment of fresh fruits, vegetables, breads pastries, scrambled eggs, and cheeses, plus much more. It was very satisfying visually and to the palate.
We also had nightcaps a couple nights at the bar hotel. They make a great Manhattan and serve you either sweets or savory items as a tid bit to go with. It’s an intimate, quiet atmosphere.
Beyond that, most staff is friendly and helpful. I’m sure it is a very trying job to deal with stressed out travelers, but as a team, these lovely people do all they can to work out issues and calm frazzled nerves, much of the time working behind the scenes.
Our room, common rooms and hallways were spotless and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was bigger than many we’ve encountered in Italy, and the shower pressure was the best we’ve had in any hotel EVER!
Although our window faced a wall within feet of the building, we kept the drapes closed so it didn’t matter. You will see plenty of the beautiful town during the day, and you certainly won’t need the view while you are sleeping. It was very quiet and conducive to rest at night. If view is really important to you, make sure that is known when you book.
The location was handy for us, but you must plan on walking quite a bit to some attractions. There are shops and restaurants nearby, but to get to the street markets, it’s a bit further. Take a map of the area or be proficient using Google maps.
All in all, I’d highly recommend this hotel!
One thing that truly impressed me was how the hotel treated my friend, who was staying nearby with her son. While she was waiting outside the hotel, the staff kindly invited her inside to wait in the reception area. When I came downstairs, the same gentleman who had helped me earlier assisted her with her bags and even escorted her to the car to ensure everything was taken care of, despite the fact that she wasn’t a guest at the hotel. She was genuinely impressed by this level of service.
My room was also well-appointed and had all the necessities to make my stay comfortable. It included amenities like bathrobes, beauty products, and all the small touches that made it feel like a luxurious experience. The attention to detail in the room ensured I had everything I needed to relax and enjoy my stay.
As for the breakfast experience, the service was, as expected, impeccable. The staff were attentive and made sure everything was well-organized. However, the selection of food, while decent, could use a few tweaks. The waffles weren’t as great as I had hoped, so I ended up sticking to fresh fruits and a croissant, which were perfectly fine. Additionally, the breakfast room could benefit from a bit more air conditioning to enhance the comfort.
The hotel itself has a classic, slightly dated feel, but for those who appreciate historical interiors, it offers a charming, castle-like ambiance. My room was comfortable and had everything I needed for a pleasant stay.
Overall, the Grand Hotel Wagner excels in customer service and offers a unique and elegant experience in Palermo. I would definitely consider staying here again and highly recommend it to others. Thank you once again for outstanding customer service 🙂
