What’s the backstory?

It was built in the 19th century during the era which is often referred to as the "Florence Capital". Its construction was commissioned by an upper-class German businessman, Baron Oppenheim - a name that is forever etched in the annals of the villa's history. Over the following years, the villa would see its purpose and ownership changing hands multiple times, but its soul always remained that of an everlasting epitome of exquisite grandeur.

The villa's construction was just one part of the picture; it was brought to life by the effervescent vision of the renowned architect Pietro Comparini and turned into a masterpiece with contributions from distinguished artists like Luigi Baccani and Luca Spinelli. Tales are still whispered of extravagant soirées and parties hosted within Villa Cora's ornate walls, where the cream of 19th-century European aristocracy would often congregate. From glamorous balls to engagement in political intrigues, the grand dame of Florence has many a secret folded within its historic crevices.
