What’s the backstory
Opening its doors for the first time in the year 1998, it was the efforts and vision of the ever-dynamic Riu family, whose legacy in the hospitality industry spans over six decades. The emphasis on doing something innovative yet maintaining a connection with the local culture led to the establishment of this beautiful Fuerteventura resort. Over time, the Riu Palace Jandia has scaled new heights, successfully preserving its tradition while seamlessly blending modernity, offering an unforgettable stay to every guest who steps in.
The architectural magnificence of the hotel pays tribute to the beautiful landscape surrounding it. Reflecting the golden sands of Jandia beach and the azure Mediterranean Sea, its ambiance becomes a mirror to nature's abundance.

The prices for these elegant spaces can sway anywhere from 90 Euros to a whopping 250 Euros per night, pack in the stay, delectable meals, fitness center, and a range of amenities into these rates.

How to get to the Riu Palace Jandia Hotel in Fuerteventura
A direct bus service operates from the airport to the town Morro Jable, which is a short stroll from the hotel. The bus number 3 is your best bet, running regularly throughout the day. Although the journey can take up to an hour and a half, it's cost-effective and an opportunity to soak up Fuerteventura’s stunning landscapes.
For those who prefer convenience and speed over costs, there's always the option of taking a taxi. Just outside the terminal building, you'll find a fleet of official, metered cabs ready to take you to the hotel in under an hour. It might be a little pricey than the bus ride, but nothing beats the comfort and directness of a taxi journey.
What Customers Have To Say
- nice reception
- large, renovated rooms
- enough space in the restaurant
- very good food in the morning and evening
- sufficient loungers in the pool area
But the paths in the hotel between the room, restaurant, pool and reception are not only long, but also incredibly tiring.
Each corridor goes up and down several steps. The hotel is built around a mountaintop. There is an elevator, but it only helps partially as it only connects small areas. In between there are steps, corridors, stairs... To get to the pool alone, you have to climb a spiral staircase over three floors - unless you take a detour, which has fewer (not "no"!) steps, but is twice as long.
Not for those with lame feet, handicapped people or older people who are no longer fit!
The way to the beach is also long - because depending on the location of the room you have to "descend" several meters... the pool is an estimated 100 meters above the beach.
But apart from that: a nice hotel with very good quality food and friendly staff.
We were guests at the RIU again in 2023 and now this year and are completely satisfied. The following evaluation from 2023 is still just as valid, the quality has been absolutely maintained.
The service staff is very attentive, friendly and well trained. The breakfast buffet is amazing! and tasted very tasty. It stood out for its variety, as did the evening buffet - everything tasted delicious. Most guests were dressed appropriately for the occasion/environment.
The way to the beach is not optimally signposted, and the way back could also use a few more signs. Once you find the way, you can be on the beach in just a few minutes.
At 40 m2, our room was completely sufficient for two people and was cleaned daily. Since we lived on the top floor we were able to enjoy a great view over the hotel complex and the beach. The entire hotel has been completely renovated in recent years and is pretty (but that's a matter of taste) and makes a clean impression.
This hotel is really recommended!
Very clean. Super friendly waitresses. Always smiling and in a good mood.
The hotel is built into the rock. Because of this there are a lot of stairs. Not suitable for those with walking difficulties. Otherwise an architecturally successful building with large rooms.
We felt comfortable and will be back.
Otherwise we felt comfortable, but we will not book the hotel again and will not recommend it to anyone else.
The hotel is built into the hillside above the beautiful beach and Atlantic Ocean. The renovation went well. Our room right on the promenade was very large, well equipped, and offered a great view of the beach and sea, as well as the town of Morro Jable. At this point, many thanks again to the head of the reception, who perfectly realized our room request in advance. The food was very good and varied, the daily changing main course offered next to the buffet was really great (e.g. roast beef, duck, veal shoulder, each tender and thinly sliced). The only point of criticism is the open-plan atmosphere of the restaurant. On the other hand, it is understandable that other solutions are difficult with around 400 guests. The friendliness of the staff was excellent in all areas of the hotel and didn't seem fake or trying. The changing evening entertainment was also appealing, the respective singers were really good. All in all, a really nice holiday in the Riu, and the weather played along too.
