Florence Airport, Peretola (FLR), sometimes called Aeroporto di Firenze, is the main gateway to Florence, Italy. Formerly known as Amerigo Vespucci Airport, it features a single terminal with 10 departure gates. Despite its small size, the airport experiences a bustling atmosphere, especially during the summer. Major airlines operating here include Aegean Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, Ita Airways, TAP Portugal, and Vueling.

Florence Airport is designed to accommodate travelers with special needs. It offers free and reserved parking spaces, a designated waiting area, free wheelchairs, lifts, and ambulifts. The airport staff can assist you to various transportation areas, including taxis, tourist buses, car rentals, the tram stop, and both short- and long-term parking areas. To ensure a smooth experience, book your assistance through your airline or tour operator at least 48 hours before your flight.

Currently, the airport in Florence does not offer baggage wrapping or storage facilities. If you misplace your luggage or any personal items, you can reach out to the lost and found team online for assistance.

Information desks are strategically placed to help guide you to your next destination or answer any of your immediate queries upon arrival.
Upper Level - Departures
The departures zone is on the first floor of the terminal. There are several check-in counters available to ensure a smooth start to your journey. Facilities on this floor include security checkpoints, lounges, and various shops. Security checks are readily accessible after check-in. If you need to relax before your flight, a number of lounges offer comfort and amenities. For last-minute necessities or gifts, you'll find a selection of shops and eateries.

By Tram
Take the Florence Airport tram to reach the city center in approximately 20 minutes. Trams depart every 10 minutes, providing a quick and convenient mode of transportation from:

- Friday - Saturday: 5:00 AM - 2:00 AM
- Sunday and Holidays: 5:00 AM - 12:30 AM
By Bus
The Volainbus shuttle bus offers a 25-minute journey to the city center. This shuttle service runs every 30 minutes, making it a reliable choice for travelers. The Busitalia SITA Nord shuttle bus can take you to Florence Train Station in about 25 minutes, giving you access to various other destinations such as Siena. Another option is the Caronna Tour bus, offering direct routes to Pisa. The bus stop is conveniently located near the tram station, and the trip to Pisa takes around one hour.
