12. Ibera Wetlands

The Ibera Wetlands are one of thop tourist destinations on any traveler’s list when exploring Argentina. It is also known as Esteros del Iberá, and it covers 13,000 square kilometers of marshland, ranging from lagoons to wetlands and creeks, making the second largest marshlands in the world after Brazil's Partanal.

The lush environment of Parque Provincial Ibera supports a wide variety of wildlife including over 600 species of birds like ibis, flamingos, hawks and vultures. The months of April and May are cooler and therefore a great time to visit the Ibera Wetlands. On the other hand, in Autumn (September until November) this season brings the most amount of rain but the wetlands are at their most colorful at this time of year.
