When it comes to the Canary Islands, Fuerteventura stands out as a true gem. With its breathtaking beaches, vibrant culture, and awe-inspiring landscapes, this island offers an unforgettable experience for every traveler.
Having recently explored this paradise myself, I have handpicked the best things to do in Fuerteventura that will not only immerse you in its natural wonders but also allow you to delve into its rich history and indulge in its local flavors. So pack your bags, put on your sunscreen, and get ready for an adventure of a lifetime on this captivating Canarian island.
1. Morro Jable
Morro Jable is a charming fishing village located on the southern tip of Fuerteventura. It boasts some of the best beaches in the Canary island, making it one of the best places to visit in Fuerteventura for those seeking sun, sea, and sand. The clear turquoise waters and sandy beaches provide the perfect setting for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing.
One of the best things to do in Morro Jable is to take a drive along the scenic promenade, which offers stunning views of the coastline and the mountains in the distance. The village itself is full of charm, with plenty of restaurants and bars serving up delicious local food and drinks.
For those looking for activities, Morro Jable has plenty to offer. The best beach in town is Matorral Beach, which is known for its beautiful scenery and clear waters. Visitors can also go fishing, take a water taxi to nearby Lobos Island, or explore the Botanical Garden.
If you're looking for a more relaxing break, head to one of the many sand bars along one of the best beaches, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and soak up the sun. And if you're interested in the local flora, check out the aloe vera plantations or take a trip to the Red Mountain.

Puerto Del Rosario is the capital of Fuerteventura and the perfect place to start your exploration of the island. From historical landmarks to shopping centers, there's something for every visitor in Puerto Del Rosario.
One of the must-visit places in Puerto Del Rosario is the Miguel de Unamuno House-Museum. 3. Playa de Costa Calma
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Playa De Costa Calma, one of the top attractions in the Costa Calma region of Fuerteventura. This beautiful sandy beach is a must-see in Fuerteventura for anyone looking for a relaxing break in the sun.
This beach in the Canary islands is known for its clear turquoise waters and sandy bars, making it perfect for sunbathing and swimming. The park even has its own shuttle that stops at the big hotels on the island.
The botanical garden is specialized in tropical and sub-tropical plants, cactus plants, and succulents. It's a beautiful place to walk around and admire the different plants. The garden is well-maintained and the plants are labeled, so you can learn about them as you walk.
The zoo is divided into four animal exhibits and four large reserves. The animals are well-cared for and seem happy in their environments. The park even has a free Ecotour tram that makes a 45-minute loop around the park, with several pickup and drop-off points along the way.
One of the highlights of the park is the shows. The bird of prey show was particularly impressive, with eagles, hawks, and owls flying over the audience. The sea lion show was also entertaining, with the sea lions showing off their tricks and interacting with their trainers.
