Set the scene
Upon entering the majestic Hotel Cheval Blanc in the heart of Paris, you might feel as if you've been transported into a modern-day palace. A sense of serenity and opulence envelops the air, with vaulted ceilings, contemporary art installations, and velvety upholstery accentuating the hotel's grandeur. Warm, muted tones in the lush décor blend seamlessly with the architectural elements preserved from the original Art Nouveau building the hotel is housed in.
The hotel lobby, laced with elements of luxurious comfort, showcases a blend of Parisian charm and subtle elegance. Soft, ambient lighting enhances the modern aesthetics, while floor-to-ceiling windows frame the picturesque views of the Seine River. The elevators are a journey in themselves, their mirrored interiors reflecting infinite, mesmerizing patterns.
What can we expect in our room
Each room at the Cheval Blanc Paris Hotel is a blend of refinement and comfort where only the chirping of birds through the open window reminds you that you're in the city. Artfully designed by celebrated architect Peter Marino, these spaces are awash with refined tones, detailed upholstery, and lustrous fixtures that dance in the Parisian light.
Now, let's whisk you away to the bed fit for royalty. Swathed in fine linens and plush pillows, these soft marshmallows of sleep are hard to resist. Meanwhile, the bathroom, offering ornate dual vanities, deep-soak bathtubs, and walk-in rain showers, feels like a personal spa. It's the perfect place for sumptuous solitude or sharing precious moments with your special one in the generous oversized tub.
How about the food and drinks at Hotel Cheval Blanc
With four restaurants under its opulent roof, this luxury hotel offers guests an extraordinary culinary journey. Should you choose to dine at Le Tout-Paris, prepare for a fusion of classic city food and innovative flavors.
But the feast is far from over! Like an alchemist, the in-house mixologist at Le Bar transforms classic cocktails into something truly mesmerizing. Snuggle up in the fringed velvet seats, listen to the hum of casual chitchat whispering through the room, and perhaps, just maybe, share laughter over that in-house punch that packs quite a flavor. And when your belly rumbles at wee hours, the Langosteria, an Italian seafood marvel, offers a fantastic late-night menu, while the Limbar is your go-to for sexy sandwiches and moreish bites.
What is the service like at the Cheval Blanc Hotel
Every staff member is not just trained; they're selected for their unyielding dedication to customer satisfaction. Your every whim and wish is their command, and they execute it with a finesse that's unmatched. Think of anything, and they'll have it covered even before it crosses your mind.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the special attention to detail that permeates every aspect of the service. Whether it's the sommelier's knowledge of the extensive wine list or the room service's penchant for punctuality, you're in for a treat. And their personal touch isn't just limited to the big things, it extends to the minutest details. Even the turndown service comes with a unique twist, leaving you surprised every evening.
What’s the neighborhood scene like
Surrounded by iconic monuments, sophisticated boutiques, divine gastronomy and a touch of vibrant Parisian life, the hotel's locale exhibits an intimate culinary scene, passionate artist community, and that unescapable allure of French architecture. Unwrap the layers of the city's history at the Louvre Museum or experience a scenic boat ride on the Seine, all within walking distance.
Imagine waking up and stepping out into a picturesque Parisian neighborhood replete with quaint cafes brewing aromatic French coffee and boulangeries showcasing irresistible pastries. Stroll to the nearby Saint Germain Des Prés where unique boutiques and vintage bookstores reveal the city's relentless charm. By evening, the romantic city lights guide you to the grand Palais Garnier, which often hosts exquisite ballet performances.

What’s the backstory of Cheval Blanc Paris
The building was initially La Samaritaine, one of the most iconic and loved department stores in the City of Love, Paris. With a decor that harkens back to the Art Deco era, this architectural and cultural landmark was transformed into the Cheval Blanc Paris in 2020.
The transformation bears the hallmark of famous architect Peter Marino, who seamlessly imbued the place with a luxurious fusion of contemporary and vintage, leaving the charm and soul of La Samaritaine intact.

How to get to Hotel Cheval Blanc in Paris
If you're planning on hopping into a taxi, it's pretty simple. The ride from Paris airport to the magnifique Cheval Blanc Paris Hotel should take about an hour. However, considering how unpredictable city traffic can get, always allow for extra travel time when planning your ventures, we don't want you missing out on any of the fun.
Now, if you're someone who finds charm in public transport or simply prefers it (kudos on your carbon-footprint consciousness, by the way!), you're in for a treat! The RER B train line regularly travels from the Paris Airport to Paris Nord, wherein you can switch to the RER A line to Auber station, which is a mere 10-minute stroll from the haven of luxury, that is Cheval Blanc. Don't worry about getting lost, there'll be signs aplenty for you to follow. Remember though, you'll want to keep a tight hold on your luggage and belongings, as public transport can often be a playground for sly pickpockets.
What Customers Have To Say
Stayed in CB last month and loved it so much we came back the following month with our family. At this price point there’s a lot of hotel groups in this category now - one might even say it’s a competitive market. You would expect the rooms to be generous, intuitive and comfortable - Cheval Blanc does not disappoint, nor does it miss an opportunity to impress.
Rooms.
You enter the room with small treats and surprises which go over and above any other hotel. I won’t spoil here because they are wonderful surprises upon entry. The hotel knew we were travelling with our son and so they gave us plush toys, crib, changing table, baby towels, bottle warmer, and balloons - which our son insisted we bring with us everywhere 😅😅. Beds are very comfortable and blackout blinds - we had no issues sleeping. Bathrooms are ample, Dyson blow dryer and steam showers along with enough creams to make an elephant’s skin smooth.
Food.
They have bakers coming in at 2am and 4am to make cakes, croissants and pastries for hotel breakfast that are at a level I haven’t seen in any other hotel. The breakfast menu is ample and staff attentive. Some standout dishes for us were the waffle which was ultra light and crispy. Only fault I could find is as a coffee lover, the coffee is typical hotel quality and would have been nicer to have barista-level cappuccino which you’re starting to see in hotels in Australia. Hopefully something adopted by leading hotels in the future 🤞🤞
In room dining food is at restaurant-level quality. Table is set for you and you have your very own private dining experience which is nicer than the usual fold-out cart table. In-room dining setting is same as the restaurant with Cristofle flatware. One of the best in-room dining experiences. Food comes in 25-30 minutes and not 60+ which makes a difference when you’re hungry and feeling lazy.
Hakuba - Japanese omakase - we didn’t dine here this time.
Langosteria - generous fine Italian seafood. Upbeat music and vibe that makes it a fun time. Wine list is great and Krug Grande Cuvée by the glass is considerably cheaper than by the bottle - so drink up.
Plentitude we dined at last time and this was as you would expect from a 3 Michelin restaurant - a hyper focus on service, produce and sauce. Wine list also very complete - praises to the Head Somm’s wine selection - while wine is certainly on the pricier side - it is served with Zalto and not a copy-cat glass at least.
Service.
Never in another hotel have I experienced such attention to service and hospitality from all the hotel staff. The front desk were a pleasure to converse with and always had an eye for small gestures which make the experience at the hotel personal. Concierge service is very thorough and provides printed agenda for the day - when you have a family like mine - where it’s easier to herd cats - this was incredibly helpful because everyone knew what was happening and when.
So for all the small aspects and the larger ones this hotel was unforgettable with unparalleled service. Cannot wait to come back.
